BEFORE WE DIG IN

Before reviewing, I signed up with ShedRx, recorded the process, and gathered the key info you need to see if it’s a good fit. This review follows NNC’s Price & Trust Transparency Score methodology, which evaluates providers across true cost analysis and safety & legitimacy.

Disclosure: I’m a paid contributor to NutritionNC.com and was not compensated by ShedRx for this review.

Step 1: Sign up and complete your intake.

Head to ShedRx’s site and work through the intake quiz. It’s of average length and covers basic health info, but you won’t have to upload a photo ID. Watch for the “two-month minimum” commitment buried in the fine print during checkout.

Step 2: Pay and schedule your video consultation.

ShedRx requires a video visit before prescribing. You pay during checkout and then schedule a time slot through the patient portal. How fast you get started depends entirely on appointment availability.

Step 3: Complete the video consultation.

My appointment was short, maybe 10 minutes. The provider was friendly and asked if I felt confident in what I already knew about the medication. However, he recommended pairing GLP-1s with intermittent fasting and keto, which contradicts leading expert guidance for GLP-1 patients.

Step 4: Prescription approval and shipping.

Approval came the same day as my consultation. The prescription was sent to the pharmacy the next day, and shipping was overnight. Tracking was available via email and the patient portal.

Step 5: Receive your medication.

My package arrived in an insulated foam box with three gel ice packs, bubble-wrapped medication, and extra supplies. Everything was secure and cold.

Step 6: Ongoing support and follow-ups.

ShedRx sets your follow-up cadence based on your care plan. Options include 30-day check-ins, 90-day cadences with monthly refills, async portal check-ins, or live video/phone visits. You can also schedule time with your provider anytime through the portal.

Customer Support

Available during business hours

Reach by phone at (877) 879-1914, in-portal chat (starts with AI but you can reach a human), and email during business hours. The AI phone service is surprisingly detailed and answered specific questions about pharmacy partners and provider networks when I reached out.

Coaching & Lifestyle

Free text-based coaching is included with all plans but may include AI-generated responses monitored by a licensed coach. A premium one-on-one coaching add-on is available at $49.99/month and includes two 20-minute sessions per month via video, phone, or text. Nutrition and fitness support are part of both tiers.

For my review, I tested and scored ShedRx across six key areas that matter most: true cost, legitimacy, patient support, shipping standards, transparency, and real customer feedback.

Here’s everything I found:

True Cost Analysis

How clear and fair is ShedRx’s pricing?

ShedRx’s compounded semaglutide injections start at $199 for the first dose, which is competitive. But prices climb with each dose increase, and you won’t see the full picture until after intake. Add a two-month minimum commitment in tiny checkout fine print and the pricing story gets murkier than it should be.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

The two-month minimum commitment is disclosed in the tiniest fine print during checkout. Most people will miss it entirely, and it looks intentional.

The main medication page shows “starting at $199” for semaglutide but doesn’t mention that prices increase at higher doses. You only learn this during checkout.

Full pricing details are locked behind the intake process. You can’t comparison-shop without first creating an account and completing the questionnaire.

Pricing Breakdown

Not Included

Lab work is not required and not included in the price. You can start treatment without labs.

None

There’s no membership fee for compounded medications. Wegovy and Zepbound require a $99 monthly membership fee, which gets you a consultation. It’s nonrefundable, so if you don’t like the branded pricing after the consultation, you’re out $99.

Compounded semaglutide (injection)

$199 first dose, then $299

Compounded semaglutide (oral lozenges)

$199 first dose, then $299

Compounded semaglutide (oral drops)

$299 first dose, then $326

Compounded semaglutide (liposomal tablets)

$299 (all doses)

Compounded semaglutide (microdose)

$149 (all doses)

Compounded tirzepatide (injection)

$299 first dose, then $399

Compounded tirzepatide (oral drops)

$279 first dose, $349 second dose, then $419

Compounded tirzepatide: (microdose)

$199 (all doses)

Wegovy (pen and pill)

From $149 (promotional through April 2026), then $199–$349

Zepbound

$299 first dose, $399 second, $499 third dose (regular price $599–$1,049 at higher doses)

Shed only shows the price for the first month of Zepbound. The price increases from $399 for the second dose all the way up to $1,049 if you miss a refill period at the highest dose. This information is best disclosed up front. There is nothing more frustrating than going through the full intake process only to find out that you can expect to pay $499 just a couple of months into treatment.

  • Nutritional support Nutrition plans are included through the standard coaching tier. The paid coaching upgrade adds more personalized nutrition support.
  • Doctor consultations The initial video consultation is required and included. Ongoing follow-ups are built into your treatment plan, and you can schedule additional provider visits through the patient portal.
  • Shipping Overnight shipping is included at no additional cost. Tracking is available via email and the patient portal, though the site notes that tracking “may not be available for all pharmacies.”

Safety & Legitimacy

Is this provider trustworthy and properly licensed?

ShedRx’s credentials are mostly solid. It holds probationary LegitScript certification, has a verifiable US address, and uses multiple licensed pharmacy partners. The concern is that two of its three pharmacy partners have disciplinary histories, and its prescribing provider groups aren’t publicly disclosed.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

ShedRx holds probationary LegitScript certification. This means current practices appear compliant, but there have been previous instances of noncompliance with LegitScript standards.

Strive Compounding Pharmacy, one of ShedRx’s pharmacy partners, received disciplinary action in February 2024 for improper semaglutide compounding and inaccurate records—the same medication they’re sending to you.

ShedRx’s business address in South Jordan, Utah is verifiable and clearly listed. No concerns here.

Credentials Breakdown

LegitScript Certification Verified

LegitScript certification is the industry gold standard for online healthcare providers, and ShedRx’s certification shows it meets current standards for safety, compliance, and trustworthy online practices. The certification is probationary, which typically indicates previous instances of noncompliance or partnerships with multiple unaffiliated entities. It’s not a red flag, but it’s not a clean bill of health either.

HIPAA Compliant Perfect

ShedRx’s HIPAA privacy notice is clearly posted and easy to find within the Terms of Service.

Clean Provider Records Minor issues

Two of ShedRx’s pharmacy partners have disciplinary histories. Strive Compounding Pharmacy received formal disciplinary action from the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy in February 2024 for improper semaglutide compounding and inaccurate compounding records, resulting in a $1,000 civil penalty. Promise Pharmacy received disciplinary action from the Florida Board of Pharmacy in September 2020 for USP violations involving hazardous drug training, documentation gaps, and facility deficiencies. Red Rock Pharmacy operates several licensed locations; while some licenses show no disciplinary history, others have minor citations (such as pharmacy violations and aiding unlicensed practice) that were resolved with paid fines and remain in active status. Foothills Professional Pharmacy, Everwell Specialty Pharmacy, and WP Pharma Labs show no disciplinary history. ShedRx does not publicly disclose its medical staffing affiliates. However, the AI phone service confirmed OpenLoop and CareGLP as provider networks when I asked it directly.

US Address Perfect

10813 S River Front Pkwy, Ste 550, South Jordan, UT 84095. Verifiable and clearly listed on the website.

Patient Support & Comprehensive Care

How easy is it to get help from real people?

ShedRx earns a perfect score here. I had easy access to real people through multiple channels, and my questions were answered directly. The AI phone service was surprisingly thorough, live chat connects you to a human if you ask, and clinical access includes flexible video visits through the portal.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

The AI phone service at (877) 879-1914 gave surprisingly thorough answers, even confirming specific pharmacy and provider network names. More helpful than many human agents I’ve encountered at other clinics.

Chat starts with AI, but you can reach a real person by asking. The transition is smooth and the human agents are responsive.

The patient portal lets you schedule video visits directly with your provider. Having that access built into the platform is a nice touch.

Support & Care Breakdown

Live Chat Human/AI

Chat support in the patient portal starts with AI but connects you to a human agent if you request it. The AI handles basic questions competently, and the handoff to a real person is straightforward.

Phone Support AI

Phone support at (877) 879-1914 is AI-powered, but it’s genuinely thorough. It answered detailed questions about pharmacy partners and provider networks that many human agents at other clinics won’t touch. For factual questions, this is more than adequate.

Email Human

Email support is available during business hours. Straightforward for account and treatment questions.

Clinical Access & Oversight Good

Regular clinician access is available, and ShedRx offers flexible follow-up options. You can have 30-day or 90-day check-in cadences, async portal check-ins, or live video/phone visits. You can also schedule time with your provider anytime through the portal. The level of access here is above average.

Medication Handling & Shipping Standards

How well shipped and packaged are the medications?

ShedRx nails this with fast overnight shipping, proper cold-chain packaging, secure materials, and all necessary supplies included. This is one of the strongest areas of the service and honestly one of the best unboxing experiences I’ve had from an online GLP-1 clinic.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

Three gel ice packs inside an insulated foam box secured the medication, which arrived cold.

The medication was separated and secured in its own bubble wrap envelope within the foam box. All materials were sealed in a thick ziplock bag. Nothing was shifting around.

Extra sharps and alcohol wipes were included, plus simple branded instructions for logging into the app and joining the ShedRx community.

Shipping Standards Breakdown

Cold-Chain Shipping Standards Perfect

Three small gel ice packs inside an insulated foam box kept the medication at the right temperature. The packaging was professional and well-assembled.

Packaging Quality & Security Perfect

The medication was separated and secured in its own bubble-wrapped envelope. All items were organized inside the foam box, and materials were sealed in a thick ziplock bag. Nothing was loose, nothing was shifting. This is how injectable medications should arrive.

Supplies & Instructions Perfect

All required injection supplies were included, plus extra sharps and alcohol wipes. ShedRx also included simple branded instructions for logging into the app and joining the patient community. No prefilled syringes, so you’ll draw and inject yourself, but the supplies and guidance are there.

Tracking & Delivery Perfect

Overnight shipping with tracking available via both email and the patient portal was fast and reliable. The site notes that tracking “may not be available for all pharmacies,” but mine came with full tracking.

79

Transparent Operations

How honest is ShedRx in its policies and communications?

This is where ShedRx starts losing points. A two-month minimum commitment buried in checkout fine print, pricing that’s hidden until after intake, misleading media logos, and vague explanations of medication types all chip away at the trust ShedRx builds in other areas. None of these issues are deal-breakers on their own, but together they paint a picture of a company that could be more straightforward.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

The two-month minimum commitment is disclosed in text so small you’ll miss it unless you’re actively looking. This is a significant financial obligation that deserves prominent disclosure.

Media logos appear on the site with no links to actual articles or features. While I was able to verify the endorsements on my own, links with no context can feel misleading.

ShedRx doesn’t clearly explain the differences between injectable and oral GLP-1 formats. Lozenges, drops, and tablets all work differently, and patients deserve that context.

Operations Breakdown

Cancellation and Post-Cancellation Billing Minor issues

The cancellation button is right there in the patient portal, one click, which is refreshing. But the two-month minimum commitment means you can’t actually leave within that window without a medical reason. If you cancel within the first two months or after your third prescription ships, there’s no refund. The cancellation mechanics are perfect; the commitment structure they sit inside is not clearly disclosed.

Clear Pricing and Policies Major issues

Only the “starting at” price appears on the main medication page. The full pricing breakdown, including dose escalation, is only revealed during checkout after you’ve completed the entire intake process. The two-month minimum commitment appears in tiny font during checkout. The refund policy (membership fees nonrefundable, no refunds during commitment, no refunds for unused services) is buried. For branded medications, you pay a $99 nonrefundable membership fee just to get a consultation, and if you don’t like the quoted price afterward, that money is gone.

Accuracy and Authenticity of Images Perfect

All patient and outcome images appear to be authentic. No signs of AI-generated content.

Advertised Pricing Accuracy Major issues

Ads on Meta and TikTok don’t appear to show pricing. The website lists “starting at $199” for semaglutide but doesn’t disclose price increases at higher doses or the two-month commitment until well into the checkout process. The gap between what’s advertised and what you’ll actually pay is wide enough to feel misleading.

Media and Third-Party Validation Minor issues

Media logos are displayed on the site with no clickable links to actual articles, features, or mentions. I had to verify these endorsements on my own. Placing recognizable media logos without evidence is a trust tactic, not a trust signal. Shed could improve its transparency score by willingly sharing proof that those outlets have recommended its services.

Marketing Practices and Sales Pressure Perfect

No countdown timers, no urgency messaging, no forced prompts. Patients can review their options without pressure. This is one area where ShedRx gets it right.

Clarity Around Medication Types and Limitations Major issues

ShedRx offers semaglutide and tirzepatide in multiple formats (injections, lozenges, drops, liposomal tablets) but doesn’t clearly explain how these differ. The site’s description of oral drops says they’re “taken daily instead of weekly and are slightly less potent” with a vague nod to appetite suppression, but there’s no clinical comparison between formats. Lozenges and liposomal tablets get even less explanation. When a clinic offers this many medication formats, patients need clear, honest information about what each option actually does and how it compares.

70

Patient Reviews & Real Experiences

What do recent customers think?

ShedRx has a 4.6 on Trustpilot, which is decent, and the reviews appear mostly authentic with a mix of positive and negative experiences. The BBB issued a pattern-of-complaints warning, though ShedRx responded with a plan to address the issues and now holds an “A” rating. What concerns me more is a recurring theme in reviews: Customers report great support until something goes wrong, at which point communication drops off.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

A 4.6 on Trustpilot with mixed reviews. The positive reviews seem genuine, and negative ones raise specific, verifiable concerns.

The BBB flagged a pattern of complaints, but ShedRx responded with a corrective plan and now holds an “A” rating. Credit for addressing it, but the underlying issues were valid.

ShedRx’s review responses are mostly authentic and attentive but occasionally veer into defensiveness and may share more patient-specific information than is appropriate in a public forum.

Who Should Use ShedRx?

  • For those who want the widest variety of compounded GLP-1 formats, ShedRx has more options than most. Semaglutide in four formats (injections, lozenges, drops, liposomal tablets) and tirzepatide in two (injections, drops), plus branded Wegovy and Zepbound. Whether you prefer injections or an oral alternative, you’ll find options here.
  • If fast shipping matters to you, ShedRx delivers. Overnight shipping is reliable, with proper cold-chain packaging, and all supplies are included. The unboxing experience is professional and well-organized. For patients who want their medication quickly and in good condition, this is a real strength.
  • If you don’t want to deal with lab work, you’ll like that ShedRx doesn’t require it. Labs aren’t required or included, which means you can start treatment without waiting on blood work. Some patients prefer this, especially if they have recent labs from their primary care provider.
  • If you want access to branded GLP-1s like Wegovy and Zepbound without insurance, ShedRx carries both. Not many online clinics offer branded options alongside compounded ones. The branded pricing is complex and requires a $99 monthly membership, but having the option is valuable for patients who specifically want brand-name medications.

Who is ShedRx Not For?

  • If pricing transparency is important to you, ShedRx will frustrate you. You can’t see the full pricing without completing the intake process, prices increase at higher doses without clear disclosure, and the two-month minimum commitment is hidden in fine print. If you want to comparison-shop before committing, clinics like Mochi Health are more transparent about what you’ll pay.
  • If you care deeply about pharmacy credentials, the disciplinary history here deserves your attention. Two of ShedRx’s three pharmacy partners have past disciplinary actions, including one specifically for improper semaglutide compounding. The issues are resolved, but for a clinic that primarily prescribes semaglutide, this history warrants scrutiny.
  • Those who want clear guidance on different medication formats won’t get it here. ShedRx offers more GLP-1 formats than almost any competitor but doesn’t explain how they differ. If understanding the practical differences between injections, lozenges, drops, and tablets matters to you (and it should), you’ll need to do that research yourself.
  • If you’re uncomfortable with AI-powered customer support, ShedRx’s phone line might bother you. The AI phone service is genuinely thorough, but if you prefer speaking to a human from the start, you’ll need to use chat and request a real person.
  • If you want insurance coverage for your GLP-1 treatment, ShedRx won’t help. Insurance is not accepted. HSA and FSA payments are, but direct billing to your insurance plan isn’t an option.

Final Verdict

OVERALL SCORE

87

ShedRx scores 86/100, driven by perfect marks in Patient Support (100/100) and Medication Handling (100/100), strong Safety & Legitimacy (87/100), and a competitive True Cost Analysis (84/100). The overnight shipping is excellent, the medication packaging is among the best I’ve seen, and the range of compounded and branded GLP-1 options is impressively wide.

The weak spots are real, though. Transparent Operations at 69/100 reflects hidden pricing, a two-month commitment buried in fine print, unexplained media logos, and poor medication format explanations. Patient Reviews at 70/100 show a BBB complaint pattern and a troubling trend of support disappearing when issues arise. And the fact that one pharmacy partner was disciplined specifically for improper semaglutide compounding deserves your awareness.

If you can look past the pricing opacity and do your own homework on medication formats, ShedRx delivers a solid clinical experience with fast shipping and genuinely good support. Just read the fine print before you commit.
