BEFORE WE DIG IN

Before reviewing, I signed up with IVY RX, recorded the process, and gathered the key info you need to see if it’s a good fit. This review follows NNC’s Price & Trust Transparency Score methodology, which evaluates providers across true cost analysis and safety & legitimacy.

Disclosure: I’m a paid contributor to NutritionNC.com and was not compensated by IVY RX for this review.

Step 1: Sign up and complete your intake.

Head to IVY RX’s site and fill out the intake questionnaire. It’s a medium-length form covering basic personal info and medical history. You’ll need a photo ID or the last four digits of your Social Security number.

Step 2: Provider reviews your file and approves your prescription.

Your intake is reviewed asynchronously by a clinician. Labs are not required. I was approved the same day I submitted my intake. The consultation shows up as a long message in the patient portal explaining dosing, expectations, follow-up, and side effects. The only thing you see about your provider is their name.

Step 3: Receive your medication.

Shipping is included, and my medication arrived in two days with full tracking via email and the patient portal. Everything came in an insulated foam box with ice packs, injection supplies, and detailed instructions.

Step 4: Complete monthly check-ins and get ongoing support.

You need to check in with your provider every month before billing and shipping can occur. If a check-in is not completed, the system cancels the renewal. There is no automatic refill and no automatic charge. This is a genuinely patient-friendly structure.

Customer Support

Limited

Phone at (866) 464-8979, chat on the main website (enters tickets responded to via email), and email at support@ivyrx.com and hello@ivyrx.com. IVY RX advertises a typical response within an hour, but my experience was slower than that.

Coaching & Lifestyle

Not offered

IVY RX does not offer behavior coaching, nutrition support, fitness guidance, or a patient community.

For my review, I tested and scored IVY RX across six key areas that matter most: true cost, legitimacy, patient support, shipping standards, transparency, and real customer feedback.

Here’s everything I found:

63

True Cost Analysis

How clear and fair is IVY RX’s pricing?

IVY RX’s true monthly cost of $197 for compounded semaglutide injections is competitive, and everything except optional lab work is included. But the advertising tells a different story: Meta ads and the website promote $175/month, which requires a six-month bundle commitment. Full pricing isn’t disclosed until after you complete the intake process.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

The website crosses out $247 and shows $175 as the price, but $175 requires a six-month commitment. This framing makes the discount look like a standard price.

Meta ads advertise only the lowest per-month option from the largest bundle without saying so. If you expect to pay $175/month, you’ll be surprised at checkout.

Full pricing is only disclosed after you’ve completed the intake questionnaire. By that point, you’ve already invested time and effort into the process.

Pricing Breakdown

Not included

Lab work is not included and not required. IVY RX does not mandate labs before prescribing, so this is not an added cost unless you choose to get labs on your own.

None

There is no separate membership or platform fee. Your monthly cost is the medication price and nothing else.

  • Coaching and lifestyle support IVY RX does not include any coaching, behavior change, or lifestyle support with its plans.
  • Nutritional support No nutrition guidance, meal plans, or dietary support of any kind. This is strictly a medication-only service.
  • Doctor consultations An asynchronous consultation is included with your plan. You won’t be charged unless your prescription is approved by a clinician. Monthly check-ins with your provider are built into the ongoing treatment structure.
  • Shipping Two-day shipping is included at no additional cost. Tracking is available via email and the patient portal.

Safety & Legitimacy

Is this provider trustworthy and properly licensed?

IVY RX checks most of the critical boxes: LegitScript certified, HIPAA compliant, verifiable US address, and a clean pharmacy record for the one pharmacy name provided. That said, the FAQ states treatments are compounded in pharmacies compliant with 503B/USP <797> standards. And yet the pharmacy that filled my order, Greenwich RX, clearly identifies as a 503A pharmacy. IVY RX also would not disclose the names and credentials of its partnering healthcare professionals, so I could not verify who would be writing my prescription beyond a single name in the patient portal.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

IVY RX holds active LegitScript certification. This is the industry gold standard, and it’s a genuine point in Ivy’s favor.

Greenwich RX, the pharmacy IVY RX told me shipped my medication, clearly identifies as a 503A pharmacy. IVY RX’s FAQ says it uses “pharmacies compliant with 503B/USP <797> standards.” These are different things.

When I asked which pharmacy was filling my order, support responded that Greenwich RX is “FDA approved.” 503A pharmacies are state licensed, not FDA approved in the way this implies. The language is misleading.

Credentials Breakdown

LegitScript Certification Verified

LegitScript certification is the industry gold standard for online healthcare providers, and IVY RX’s certification shows it meets rigorous standards for safety, compliance, and trustworthy online practices.

HIPAA Compliant Perfect

IVY RX clearly posts its HIPAA privacy notice and is easy to find on the website. No concerns here.

Clean Provider Records Major issues

Greenwich RX, the only pharmacy IVY RX disclosed to me, has no disciplinary actions or deficiencies on file. That’s good. However, IVY RX scored zero on licensed medical prescribers because no provider information is listed on the website and none is shared when requested. The site claims every provider undergoes background checks and license verification, even referencing a medical advisory board, but the link to learn more just redirects to the main page. I could only see my provider’s name in the patient portal, with no credentials, specialty, or license information attached.

US Address Perfect

111 NE 1st Street, 8th Floor #8564, Miami, FL 33132. Verifiable and clearly listed.

75

Patient Support & Comprehensive Care

How easy is it to get help from real people?

IVY RX is inconsistent here. Some support interactions were kind and responsive during business hours, with clear answers. Others were frustratingly unhelpful. Clinical access is structured around mandatory monthly check-ins, so you won’t be auto-billed or auto-shipped without connecting with your provider first.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

Support was inconsistent, at one point repeatedly sending links instead of a direct answer until directly asked for a clear yes or no.

The monthly check-in requirement means IVY RX won’t charge you or ship medication until you’ve actually connected with your provider. This is a genuinely patient-first feature.

The provider consultation showed up as a detailed message covering dosing, expectations, follow-up, and side effects. Not a video visit, but thorough.

Support & Care Breakdown

Live Chat Human

Chat on the main website was inconsistent. When asking for the price of the semaglutide microdose plan, I received a helpful response within 24 hours. While some replies during business hours were quick and helpful, others failed to answer my questions directly.

When asked if they offer a tirzepatide microdosing option, I was sent links three separate times—either to a general help page or to start intake to change my prescription—without any of them actually answering my question. Only after I asked directly for a clear yes or no did they finally confirm that it is an option. It should not be this difficult to get basic treatment information.

Phone Support Human

Reach by phone at (866) 464-8979. I had access to a real person when I called.

Email Human

Reach email support at support@ivyrx.com and hello@ivyrx.com. This is where most communication ends up since chat tickets route to email. Responses were typically kind and direct.

Clinical Access & Oversight Good

Monthly check-ins with your provider are required before each billing and shipping cycle. If you don’t complete the check-in, the system cancels your renewal. There’s no auto-refill and no auto-charge. IVY RX describes this as “continuous follow-up consultations to monitor progress, address concerns, and adjust weight loss plans as needed.” The structure makes it hard to fall through the cracks.

100

Medication Handling & Shipping Standards

How well shipped and packaged are the medications?

IVY RX earns a perfect score. Cold-chain shipping was handled properly, the packaging was secure and organized, all injection supplies were included with extras, and a thoughtful set of instructions made the unboxing experience genuinely reassuring. This is the standard other clinics should be aiming for.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

My medication arrived in an insulated foam box with ice packs and a ziplock bag separating the cold pack from the medication and supplies. Temperature control was handled correctly.

Right on top was a clear “Stop read this first” sign, which is a genuinely nice touch. Below it, a detailed pamphlet with drug information, a dosing schedule card, and injection instructions.

The medication vial was secure inside a pill bottle, separate from the other materials. Supplies were organized in a ziplock bag. Nothing was loose, damp, or shifting.

Shipping Standards Breakdown

Cold-Chain Shipping Standards Perfect

Ice packs inside an insulated foam box with a ziplock barrier between the cold pack and medication materials helped everything arrive properly chilled. No issues.

Packaging Quality & Security Minor issues

The medication vial was stored securely inside a pill bottle, completely separate from the other supplies. Materials were organized inside a ziplock bag. Nothing was loose, nothing was shifting, and nothing was in contact with the ice pack. This is how injectable medication should be packaged.

Supplies & Instructions Perfect

Extra sharps, alcohol wipes, complete drug information, and clear injection instructions were all included. The “Stop read this first” card on top of the materials was a nice touch that other clinics could learn from. The dosing schedule card and detailed pamphlet explained how to draw up the syringe, which can be confusing and even dangerous for first-time users. Genuinely impressed.

Tracking & Delivery Perfect

Two-day delivery with tracking available in both email and the patient portal. My medication arrived right on schedule.

60

Transparent Operations

How honest is IVY RX in its policies and communications?

IVY RX does some things very well here: easy cancellation, no sales pressure, authentic images, and clear medication disclosures. But the pharmacy transparency issue drags this section down hard, since claiming 503B compliance when your pharmacy is 503A is not a minor detail. Combined with pricing hidden behind the intake and misleading ad pricing, there’s a pattern of selective honesty.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

IVY RX’s website claims medications are “compounded in pharmacies compliant with 503B/USP <797> standards.” The pharmacy that shipped my order is 503A. These are fundamentally different regulatory categories.

Cancellation is genuinely easy: one button in the patient portal to cancel or pause. No contracts, no fees, no runaround. Full marks here.

Meta ads advertise only the lowest per-month price from the six-month bundle. The actual month-to-month rate is $72 higher for semaglutide.

Operations Breakdown

Cancellation and Post-Cancellation Billing Perfect

“No long-term contracts or cancellation fees involved.” You can cancel or pause your subscription with one button in the patient portal. It doesn’t get simpler than that.

Clear Pricing and Policies Major issues

Pricing for semaglutide and tirzepatide injections and melts is only fully disclosed after completing the intake process. However, microdose options are not shown in checkout—I had to reach out directly just to find out that tirzepatide microdosing is indeed an option.

Accuracy and Authenticity of Images Perfect

All patient and outcome images on the website appear authentic. No AI-generated imagery concerns.

Advertised Pricing Accuracy Mionor issues

Meta ads promote only the lowest monthly option from the largest bundle without disclosing the bundle requirement. The website shows “From $247 $175 (4 doses/month)” which frames a bundle discount as the standard price. Technically legal, practically misleading.

Media and Third-Party Validation Major issues

This is the biggest transparency concern. IVY RX’s website states treatments are compounded in pharmacies compliant with 503B/USP <797> standards. When I asked about its pharmacy partners, support would only confirm the pharmacy used for my specific order—Greenwich RX—and described it as FDA approved. Greenwich RX identifies as a 503A pharmacy, not 503B. These are fundamentally different designations. Facilities with 503B registration produce medications under federal oversight and CGMP standards, while 503A pharmacies compound customized prescriptions under state licensing.

The clinic also references quality testing in FDA- and DEA-registered labs, but does not disclose which labs, which pharmacy partners it uses, or who its partnering medical practitioners are. No COAs are published anywhere on the site. Without that information, there is no way to independently verify any quality or compliance standards, leaving patients to take Ivy’s word for it.

Marketing Practices and Sales Pressure Perfect

No countdown timers, no urgency messaging, no pressure tactics. Patients can review their options without being pushed. Full marks.

Clarity Around Medication Types and Limitations Major issues

IVY RX offers oral melts alongside injections without explaining any efficacy difference between the two formats. No published human clinical trial data exists for sublingual semaglutide or oral melts specifically. The only comparative absorption data comes from animal studies. Patients choosing between injections and melts are making a meaningful medical decision without the information needed to make it, and the site does not acknowledge that gap anywhere.

70

Patient Reviews & Real Experiences

What do recent customers think?

IVY RX holds a 4.5 on Trustpilot, Reddit feedback is mixed, and the BBB gives IVY RX a C+ rating with 18 complaints filed against the business. This checks out; I only received review solicitations after clearly positive support interactions, including prompts to mention the support agent by name. I was not prompted to leave a review after negative experiences.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

A 4.5 on Trustpilot looks strong, but the five-star reviews have a sameness that made me look twice. I couldn’t confirm they’re fake, but the pattern raised my eyebrow.

I received a review request that specifically asked me to mention the support person by name. This explains the pattern: They actively and frequently solicit reviews, which inflates volume and positivity.

A C+ rating from the BBB and 18 complaints are worth considering alongside the Trustpilot score. That’s a meaningful number of formal complaints for a telehealth clinic.

Who Should Use IVY RX?

  • If you want same-day approval without a video visit or lab work, you’ll appreciate that IVY RX removes common barriers. The intake is asynchronous, approval came the same day I submitted, and I didn’t need to schedule a video call or wait on blood work. For people who want to start treatment quickly without extra appointments, this is a real advantage.
  • For those who care about how your medication is packaged and shipped, IVY RX sets the standard. Perfect scores across every shipping and packaging category. Insulated box, ice packs, secure vial storage, extra supplies, and some of the best first-time-user instructions I’ve seen. The “Stop read this first” card and dosing pamphlet are genuinely thoughtful additions.
  • Those who prefer not to be auto-billed or auto-shipped will like how IVY RX’s check-in model protects you. Monthly check-ins are required before each billing cycle. If you don’t check in, the system cancels your renewal. No surprise charges, no unwanted shipments. This is how more clinics should handle recurring prescriptions.
  • If easy cancellation matters to you, you’re in luck. One button in the patient portal. No contracts, no fees, no retention calls. Done.

Who is IVY RX Not For?

  • If pharmacy transparency matters to you, IVY RX’s claims won’t hold up. The website says medications come from 503B-compliant pharmacies. The pharmacy that shipped my order is 503A. When I asked about it, support described the pharmacy as “FDA approved,” which doesn’t apply to 503A compounding pharmacies. The medications themselves may be fine, but the claims about where they come from are inaccurate.
  • If you want to know who is prescribing your medication, IVY RX won’t tell you. No provider information is listed on the website, and nothing beyond a name is shared in the patient portal. The medical advisory board link redirects to the homepage.
  • If you want coaching, nutrition support, or lifestyle guidance alongside your medication, look elsewhere. IVY RX is a medication-only service with no coaching, nutrition, or fitness support of any kind. Clinics like MEDVi include lifestyle coaching at no extra cost.
  • If you want to compare prices before committing to the intake process, IVY RX won’t let you. Full pricing is only disclosed after completing the intake questionnaire. The website shows only the lowest bundle price, and the actual month-to-month rate requires digging.
  • If you rely on online reviews for healthcare decisions, take the Trustpilot score with a grain of salt. The 4.5 rating is inflated by active review solicitation, and the BBB has 18 complaints on file with a C rating. Reddit feedback is mixed. Weigh this hands-on review and the BBB data more heavily.

Final Verdict

OVERALL SCORE

71

IVY RX scores 71/100. The operational strengths are real and impressive: Medication Handling & Shipping (100/100), same-day approval, no video visit required, easy cancellation, and a monthly check-in model that prevents surprise billing. The true monthly cost of $197 for compounded semaglutide is competitive, and the unboxing experience is one of the best I’ve reviewed.

But the price and pharmacy transparency issues are hard to overlook. IVY RX states 503B compliance standards on its website, but does not publicly disclose pharmacy partners, third-party testing labs, COAs, or board-certified clinicians, making those standards impossible to verify independently. Add in provider anonymity (zero out of 100 on licensed medical prescribers), pricing that is like pulling teeth to obtain, and a BBB C rating with 18 complaints, and there’s a pattern of information that is harder to access than it should be.

If the day-to-day experience of using IVY RX is what matters most to you, the shipping, support, and treatment structure are excellent. If knowing exactly where your medication comes from, who prescribed it, and what evidence supports your specific format matters, the gaps are significant.
