BEFORE WE DIG IN

Before reviewing, I signed up with MEDVi, recorded the process, and gathered the key info you need to see if it’s a good fit. This review follows NNC’s Price & Trust Transparency Score methodology, which evaluates providers across true cost analysis and safety & legitimacy.

Disclosure: I’m a paid contributor to NutritionNC.com and was not compensated by MEDVi for this review.

Step 1: Sign up and complete your intake.

After heading to MEDVi’s site and signing up, the first step is the intake questionnaire. This is on one long, scrollable page, which I genuinely appreciated, since most clinics make you click through each question individually. It covers your health history, current medications, and weight-loss goals. No photo ID needed at this point.

Step 2: Pay for your first month.

You pay before the consultation, not after. The first-month price is discounted ($179 for compounded semaglutide injections, $249 for semaglutide tablets, $279 for tirzepatide). The ongoing monthly rate is higher, but, frustratingly, you will not see that clearly disclosed at checkout. It is buried in the FAQ at the bottom of the page.

Step 3: Schedule your video consultation.

MEDVi prescribes medication after you’ve completed a mandatory virtual video visit, which you schedule by selecting an available time slot. Unlike clinics that handle consultations asynchronously, this format could delay treatment by a day or two.

Step 4: Complete the video visit.

Before the consultation begins, the patient portal automatically takes a photo of your face to verify your identity. My doctor was warm, genuinely engaged, and ensured I knew enough about the medication before proceeding. She even proactively included a nausea prescription just in case. The entire visit took less than 10 minutes.

Step 5: Review your appointment recap.

After the visit, a recap appears in your patient portal in both English and Spanish. I have not seen bilingual recaps at other clinics. It is a small but thoughtful detail.

Step 6: Prescription approval and pharmacy processing.

Once the consultation wraps, your prescription is approved that same day. Your medication ships from a compound pharmacy partner, direct to your home.

Step 7: Receive your medication.

Expect two-day shipping and tracking via both email and the patient portal. My medication arrived properly in cold-chain packaging, an insulated foam box with non-sweat ice packs. All injection supplies are included, plus extras.

Step 8: Start treatment with coaching support.

Your plan includes one-on-one lifestyle coaching, nutrition guidance with meal plans and a nutrition report, and fitness support. All included at no additional cost with every plan.

Step 9: Monthly follow-ups.

Monthly follow-ups are required to continue your prescription. These are typically handled asynchronously unless side effects, dose changes, or clinical concerns require a live visit. You also have optional provider access in the patient portal between scheduled check-ins.

Customer Support

24/7

Phone at (323) 690-1564, in-portal live chat (responsive and human), and email at help@medvi.org. Chat is your best bet. Phone staff put me on hold indefinitely when I asked about pharmacy partners.

Coaching & Lifestyle

Included

One-on-one lifestyle coaches for behavior change and motivation, mindful eating and nutrition coaching with sample meal plans, and a nutrition report—plus fitness education. All included with every plan at no extra cost.

For my review, I tested and scored MEDVi across six key areas that matter most: true cost, legitimacy, patient support, shipping standards, transparency, and real customer feedback.

Here’s everything I found:

42

True Cost Analysis

How clear and fair is MEDVi’s pricing?

MEDVi’s flat-rate model has a genuinely appealing core: no membership fee, and your monthly price stays the same regardless of dose—after the first-month discount is over that is.

But the advertising only highlights the introductory “Starting at…” price. Full refill costs aren’t mentioned, leaving the true price buried in the fine print.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

Meta ads show only the discounted first-month price, with no mention of what refills cost after that. That feels misleading.

Frustratingly, the real ongoing monthly price is hidden in the FAQ in small text at the bottom of the page. During checkout, you see hints but never a clear number.

Advertisements reflect the first-month rate only and don’t note that refill pricing increases after that, which could mislead prospective patients about ongoing costs.

Pricing Breakdown

Included

MEDVi partners with Labcorp for lab work. Labs are included in your plan at no extra cost, but are recommended, not required. You can start treatment without waiting on blood work. If you’re ready to move forward, you can start the MEDVi intake online.

None

There is no separate membership or platform fee at MEDVi. Your monthly cost is the medication price and nothing else. This is one of MEDVi’s genuinely strong features.

  • Coaching and lifestyle support MEDVi includes one-on-one lifestyle coaches for healthy habits and motivation with every plan, at no extra cost. This covers behavior adjustments, progress tracking, and ongoing motivation support. Not a tacked-on upsell.
  • Nutritional support One-on-one nutrition and mindfulness coaching is included, along with sample meal plans and a personalized nutrition report. This is a nice touch—most clinics either skip this entirely or charge extra for it.
  • Doctor consultations Virtual video visits are part of the plan. The initial consultation is required, and monthly follow-ups are built into the ongoing treatment structure. Provider access through the patient portal is available between scheduled visits.
  • Shipping Two-day shipping is included at no additional cost. Tracking is available via email and the patient portal.

Safety & Legitimacy

Is this provider trustworthy and properly licensed?

MEDVi’s credentials are nearly spotless. LegitScript certified, HIPAA compliant, verifiable US address, licensed prescribers through two affiliated networks, and a clean disciplinary record. The only gap: Getting pharmacy partner information required an email runaround after phone support left me on hold indefinitely.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

MEDVi holds active LegitScript certification, the industry gold standard for online healthcare providers. No concerns here.

HIPAA privacy notice is clearly posted in checkout: “Your data is protected by HIPAA. All transactions are secured and encrypted.” Nice and straightforward.

After phone support put me on hold with no answer, MEDVi eventually provided one pharmacy partner name (Link Compound Pharmacy) via email. It should not have taken that much effort.

Credentials Breakdown

LegitScript Certification Verified

LegitScript certification is the industry gold standard for online healthcare providers, and MEDVi’s certification shows it meets rigorous standards for safety, compliance, and trustworthy online practices.

HIPAA Compliant Perfect

MEDVi clearly displays its HIPAA privacy notice at checkout, stating, “Your data is protected by HIPAA. All transactions are secured and encrypted.”

Clean Provider Records Perfect

I found no disciplinary actions on file for Link Compound Pharmacy, the one pharmacy partner MEDVi disclosed. Medical treatment is contracted through CareGLP-affiliated healthcare providers and OpenLoop Health-affiliated networks. I could not verify other pharmacy partners because MEDVi only gave me one name, but the one they shared is clean.

US Address Perfect

131 Continental Dr, Ste 305, Newark, DE 19713. Verifiable and clearly listed on the website.

83

Patient Support & Comprehensive Care

How easy is it to get help from real people?

MEDVi earns a perfect score here. Every support channel I tested connected me to a real person. Chat is fast and human, phone is polite and available around the clock, and clinical access includes required monthly follow-ups as well as as-needed provider access between visits.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

In-portal chat was fast, polite, and clearly staffed by a real person. This is the best channel for getting help from MEDVi.

Phone support at (323) 690-1564 is available 24/7, and the reps are polite. I didn’t get much traction on detailed pharmacy questions, but they were otherwise helpful.

Email at help@medvi.org is where I got the pharmacy partner name and where my cancellation was confirmed the next day. Very responsive for straightforward requests.

Support & Care Breakdown

Live Chat Human

The in-portal chat is responsive and appears to be staffed by real human agents. They answered my questions directly without deflecting. If you need help with your account or have treatment questions, chat is the channel to use. Available 24/7.

Phone Support Human

Available 24/7 at (323) 690-1564 and the staff I spoke to were polite. When I called with more detailed questions about pharmacy partners, I was put on hold for a while and didn’t get a clear answer, but I got the sense they really wanted to help before they forgot about me. For general questions, phone support is perfectly fine.

Email Human

Email support at help@medvi.org. This is where I ultimately got the pharmacy partner information and where my cancellation request was confirmed the next day. Functional and responsive for straightforward questions.

Clinical Access & Oversight Good

Monthly follow-ups are required to continue treatment, which means someone is consistently reviewing your progress. Between visits, you can access your provider through the patient portal, if needed. While the mandatory monthly visit creates a more hands-on cadence than most clinics, even when visits are handled asynchronously, the level of clinical oversight stands out.

94

Medication Handling & Shipping Standards

How well shipped and packaged are the medications?

Mostly solid, with one notable misstep. Cold-chain shipping was handled properly, all injection supplies were included with extras, and tracking was available through multiple channels. However, the inner packaging was disorganized, which matters for injectable medication.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

My medication arrived via cold-chain shipping, packed with non-sweat ice packs inside an insulated foam box. Temperature control was handled properly.

Extra sharps, alcohol wipes, visual injection instructions, and complete drug information were included in the box. Everything you need is there.

Order tracking is available via email or the patient portal. My meds arrived in two days, right on time.

Shipping Standards Breakdown

Cold-Chain Shipping Standards Perfect

Non-sweat ice packs inside an insulated foam box kept everything at the right temperature during transit. No dry ice, but the foam insulation and ice packs were sufficient. The medication arrived cold, which is the most important thing.

Packaging Quality & Security Minor issues

Here’s where things got sloppy. My medication vial was loose and upside down inside a small ziplock bag, stuffed inside a larger ziplock with the supplies. The large ziplock was not sealed. Two alcohol wipes were damp from direct contact with the ice pack. None of this compromised the medication itself, but when you pay $300/month for an injectable, the vial should be upright, secured, and items separated from moisture.

Supplies & Instructions Perfect

All required injection supplies were included, plus extra sharps and alcohol wipes. Clear, visual instructions for injection technique and full drug information were also in the box. The meds didn’t come as prefilled syringes, so you have to draw and inject yourself. The instructions are more than clear enough for a first timer.

Tracking & Delivery Perfect

Two-day shipping with tracking in both email and the patient portal. My medication arrived on time with no issues. Straightforward and dependable.

35

Transparent Operations

How honest is MEDVi in policies and communications?

This is MEDVi’s weakest area by a wide margin. A 35 out of 100 does not happen by accident but rather comes down to misleading ad pricing, real costs hidden in the FAQ, unverifiable media endorsements, AI-looking website images, countdown timers at checkout, and failure to disclose differences between oral and injectable medications. The problems compound quickly.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

MEDVi’s site has “backed by science” displayed with logos from famous research institutions but zero clarification on whether this refers to GLP-1s as a drug class or MEDVi specifically. Purposely vague.

I saw multiple countdown timers during checkout, a pressure tactic designed to create artificial urgency for a monthly medical subscription.

MEDVi website showing media logos with no verifiable linked articles

Media logos from The New York Times, Healthline, Fortune, and others are prominently displayed. I could not verify linked articles from any of them except Forbes.

Operations Breakdown

Cancellation and Post-Cancellation Billing Minor issues

I couldn’t find a cancel button in the app or portal, so I used chat support, which directed me to email. I sent an email and received cancellation confirmation the following day. No pushback, no retention attempts. The process was fine once I found the right channel, but a simple cancel button in the portal would solve this entirely.

Clear Pricing and Policies Major issues

Pricing is not clearly shown during checkout. The ongoing monthly cost after the first-month discount is buried in the FAQ at the bottom of the page in small text. The checkout flow repeats the same information multiple times as you scroll without ever clearly stating what you will pay going forward. I had to actively search for the real price.

Accuracy and Authenticity of Images Minor issues

Some of the images on MEDVi’s website have an uncanny quality that suggests AI generation. I cannot confirm this definitively without forensic analysis, but the visual quality is off in a way that stood out to me during my review.

Advertised Pricing Accuracy Major issues

MEDVi’s advertising focuses on the first-month promotional price, with no mention that refill costs are higher. Website pricing uses “Starting at…” language, which technically provides legal cover, but the overall impression may not reflect what patients actually pay.

Media and Third-Party Validation Major issues

MEDVi displays logos from The New York Times, Healthline, Fortune, and other outlets on its website. I could not find verifiable articles from any of them except Forbes. Placing recognizable media logos on your site without linkable evidence is a trust tactic, not a trust signal. The “backed by science” section shows logos from famous institutions without clarifying whether they reference GLP-1s generally or MEDVi specifically. It is intentionally ambiguous.

Marketing Practices and Sales Pressure Minor issues

Multiple countdown timers appear during checkout. These are designed to create urgency and push you toward a quick decision. It is not the most aggressive pressure I’ve encountered, but it’s there and it’s unnecessary, especially for a medical subscription service.

Clarity Around Medication Types and Limitations Major issues

MEDVi offers compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide in both injectable and oral tablet formats but doesn’t explain how these formats differ. Oral compounded peptide tablets are relatively new and work differently than injections. Patients deserve clear, honest information about what they are choosing, and MEDVi provides none.

85

Patient Reviews & Real Experiences

What do recent customers think?

MEDVi scores a 4.5 on Trustpilot and, more importantly, responses to customer feedback are genuine, not copy-paste templates. They actually address the specific concern, which is rare in this space. My own experience lines up with that: Every time I have reached out, I got a real answer from a real person who engaged with what I was asking.

KEY OBSERVATIONS

MEDVi’s review responses are individualized and actually engage with specific patient feedback. Not copy-paste scripts. This is genuinely uncommon.

A 4.5 on Trustpilot with a high volume of reviews. Some of the five-star reviews have a generic quality that makes me skeptical, but the overall score reflects a mostly positive customer base.

Reddit is mixed. Some users praise easy onboarding and weight-loss results. Others describe poor customer service, refund disputes, and frustration over changing terms. My own experience was positive, so it is possible operations have improved.

Who Should Use MEDVi?

  • For predictable pricing that doesn’t change with your dose, MEDVi stands out. The flat-rate model means your $299/month for compounded semaglutide injections stays at $299 no matter your dose. There are no surprise price hikes when your prescriber adjusts your dosage, and no membership fees either.
  • If you want lifestyle coaching as well as medication, you’ll find MEDVi delivers more than most. Behavior coaching, nutrition guidance with meal plans and reports, and fitness support all come included with every plan at no additional cost. Most clinics either charge extra for these services or offer a minimal version.
  • If you prefer a video consultation with your provider before starting medication, you’ll love that MEDVi requires one. Some patients genuinely want a video consultation rather than an asynchronous questionnaire. If that describes you, MEDVi’s mandatory video visit is a plus, not a drawback.
  • For those who want both injectable and oral tablet compounded GLP-1 options, MEDVi has both formats. Semaglutide and tirzepatide are each available in injection and tablet form, giving you more flexibility than many clinics offer. Just be aware that MEDVi does not explain the differences between these formats anywhere on the website.

Who is MEDVi Not For?

  • If transparent marketing is important to you, MEDVi’s advertising will be frustrating. The flat-rate pricing model is genuinely fair, but the way it’s marketed undermines that. First-month prices in ads, real costs buried in FAQ, and a checkout flow that obscures rather than clarifies all hide details. You should not have to dig for answers.
  • If you use online reviews to guide healthcare decisions, approach MEDVi’s Trustpilot with skepticism. The review patterns initially seemed suspicious with a flood of five-star ratings, but there are no notices of foul play. They likely send review requests after patient interactions, which results in frequent but brief reviews. The BBB gives MEDVi an F rating. I would weigh the Reddit feedback and this hands-on review more heavily.
  • If you want a broad menu of branded GLP-1 options, look elsewhere. No Mounjaro, Wegovy, Zepbound, oral drops, microdose options, or non-GLP-1 medications. If compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide (injectable or tablet) and $1,999 Ozempic are not what you need, clinics like Mochi Health or Eden offer much wider selections.
  • If you need clear information about the differences between oral and injectable GLP-1s, you won’t get it from MEDVi. It sells both formats but offers no educational content about how they differ in absorption, efficacy evidence, or practical use. You are left to research a medical decision on your own.
  • If you need pharmacy transparency, expect pushback. I could not get pharmacy partner information over the phone. They put me on hold indefinitely, never called back, and only disclosed one partner name via email after I pressed. A clinic that makes it this difficult to tell you where your medication comes from has a transparency problem.

Final Verdict

OVERALL SCORE

63

MEDVi scores 63/100. The clinical fundamentals are genuinely strong: 83/100 in Safety & Legitimacy, excellent Patient Support (100/100), reliable Medication Handling (94/100), and a flat-rate pricing model that is one of the fairest in the GLP-1 space.

But the Transparent Operations score of 35/100 paints a dismal picture. Misleading ad pricing, costs buried in FAQ, unverifiable media endorsements, vague “backed by science” claims, AI-looking website images, checkout countdown timers, and zero disclosure about oral versus injectable medication differences all create a trust deficit that the strong clinical legitimacy just cannot fully offset.

If you’re willing to look past the marketing and do your own homework, the underlying value is real. But you should not have to work this hard to trust a clinic with your health.
