Farmers´ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP)
- Improving the nutrition of WIC participants
- Increasing North Carolina farmers´ share of the food dollar
- Helping revitalize rural areas by increasing awareness and use of farmer´s markets.
WIC-eligible pregnant and postpartum women, breastfeeding mothers, children ages three and four years of age in selected counties receive coupons to purchase locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables directly from farmers at their local farmer´s market.
