Purpose:

The purpose of the Preschool Nutrition Conference is to enhance the ability of children and their families to make food and physical activity choices that promote healthful behaviors that will last a lifetime.

Who Should attend?

This conference is designed for staff of child care centers, public health agencies, WIC Programs, Cooperative Extension, Early Intervention Programs, Developmental Evaluation Centers, Head Start Preschool Programs, Child Nutrition Programs, and Child and Adult Care Food Programs (CACFP). This conference serves as the biennial CACFP conference and the annual WIC Program conference.

Conference Objectives:

This conference is designed for staff of child care centers, public health agencies, WIC Programs, Cooperative Extension, Early Intervention Programs, Developmental Evaluation Centers, Head Start Preschool Programs, Child Nutrition Programs, and Child and Adult Care Food Programs (CACFP). This conference serves as the biennial CACFP conference and the annual WIC Program conference.

Registration:
  • Fee: $55 per person which includes conference materials.
  • Deadline: September 30, 2002.
  • Refund Policy: Refunds are available, less $15 administrative fee for cancellations received by September 30, 2002. If you register, do not attend, and do not cancel, you or your agency will be billed for the full amount of the registration fee. Substitutes are accepted and encouraged.

    A block of rooms will be held under "Preschool Nutrition Conference sponsored by Northwest AHEC of Wake Forest School of Medicine" until September 15, 2002.
  • Directions: From I-40: Take Exit 217, Koury Boulevard, to hotel.
    From I-85: Take Exit 122B, go 3/4 mile to Exit 81, follow exit ramp to
    I-40 West, take Koury Boulevard to hotel.

Continuing Professional Education (CPE):

Continuing professional education credits are available from the American Dietetic Association, Commission on Dietetic Registration; American School Food Service Association; and Division of Child Development.
