What Is GobyMeds?
GobyMeds is a telehealth clinic that specializes in GLP-1 medications for weight loss.
Although GobyMeds does offer Zepbound and Wegovy, most of its patients are prescribed compounded semaglutide or compounded tirzepatide. Compounded medications have the same active ingredients as their name-brand cousins, but they are not FDA-approved and can vary in quality.
Compounding allows GobyMeds to offer a personalized prescription of any dosage and include additives like energy boosters or nausea reducers at a fraction of the cost of name brands.
GobyMeds ships to all 50 states. It also offers NAD+ and Sermorelin for those also looking for wellness products beyond weight loss.

GobyMeds does a few things differently from other weight-loss clinics, and I found the site to be a little buggy and the process to be more complicated than other online weight-loss clinics.
Step 1: Create an Account
Provide your name, email, and password and choose between weight loss, anti-aging, or metabolic health. You will have to verify your identity by phone. Enter your phone number and you’ll receive a text with a six-digit code. Enter the code to continue.
Step 2: Fill Out a Medical Questionnaire
GobyMeds asks all the typical questions about your medical history, weight-loss attempts, and goals. It’s pretty boilerplate until you get to one oddly worded question.
Towards the middle of the questionnaire, you are asked to choose between an “alternative dosing protocol” and an “established brand name dosing protocol.”
It was probably worded this way for legal reasons, but is simply asking if you want compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide, which is the “alternative dosing protocol,” or name-brand Wegovy or Zepbound, the “established brand name dosing protocol.”
Step 3: Consent Forms
Goby has no less than three consent forms to agree to, declaring, among other things, that you have been truthful on your intake form, understand the side effects of GLP-1, and consent to follow-up visits.
Step 4: Choose Your Medication
If you selected the “alternative protocol” way back before the consent forms, you can now choose between compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide. Both are available either in three-month supplies at a deep discount or on a month-by-month plan.
If you choose “established brand name,” you are offered Zepbound and/or Wegovy, depending on availability. At the moment, only Zepbound seems to be available.
Step 5: Credit Card Info
At this point, you’ll provide your credit card information, but GobyMeds will just put a hold on the amount until after the licensed provider review. If you’re not given a prescription, the charges will drop off.
Step 6: Provider Review
A licensed provider will review your medical history, BMI, and weight-loss goals and issue your prescription if you qualify. GobyMeds does this in the most impersonal way possible, via SMS, except in NM, MS, LA, and WV, where providers are required to conduct a video consultation.
Step 7: Shipment
Within a week, your medicine and all necessary injection supplies should arrive at your door.
Step 8: Ongoing Care
GobyMeds doesn’t offer anything in terms of lifestyle coaching, but it does offer free “check-ins” with your provider before every refill. Your provider will contact you 7–10 days before your refill is shipped. So, if you order a monthly supply, they will check in once a month; if you order a three-month supply, they will check in every three months.
Treatment Options at GobyMeds
Compared to similar clinics, such as Mochi Health, which offers a wide range of both oral and injectable GLP-1 and non-GLP-1 weight-loss meds, GobyMeds offers a limited treatment range:
- Weekly name-brand GLP-1 injections: GobyMeds offers Wegovy (semaglutide) and Zepbound (tirzepatide), both of which you self-inject once a week using a prefilled pen. GobyMeds doesn’t always have both medications available, however, and at the moment, it is only offering Zepbound.
- Compounded medications: GobyMeds mainly prescribes compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide. Both come in vials, and you are given syringes to load and inject yourself at home once a week. GobyMeds sources its compounded meds from BPI Labs.
While compounded meds are not FDA approved and come with a number of risks, including dosing irregularities and inconsistent quality, BPI Labs is a legitimate outsourcing pharmacy and follows all FDA regulations, including cGMP (21 CFR Parts 210 and 211) for sterile injectables.
GobyMeds doesn’t offer a lot of options like GLP-1 drops or lozenges. However, since it uses compounded GLP-1s, you may be able to customize your prescription by getting a custom dosage or including additives, such as glycine or vitamins to help minimize side effects, or NAD, which can boost energy.[1][2][3]

GobyMeds only offers meds. Studies have shown that GLP-1 use without lifestyle changes causes many patients to regain weight, so if you need help in that area, find another clinic.[5]
