I woke up exhausted. Again. Despite eight hours of sleep, I felt like I’d been hit by a truck.
The worst part? This wasn’t just tiredness. My libido had disappeared, my gym progress had flatlined for months, and the stubborn belly fat wouldn’t budge no matter what I tried.
Sound familiar?
I started looking at low testosterone levels as the problem which led me to twenty different providers, hours of YouTube videos, and multiple labs and consultations.
What I discovered shocked me: the difference between the best and worst clinics isn’t just price—it’s potentially years of your hormonal health.
I’ve personally gone with FountainTRT because I respect and, more importantly, trust Dr. Doron Stember and the team he’s built over there.
But depending on your symptoms and goals, one of the other top clinics might be better for you.
Here’s my no-BS breakdown of the best online TRT clinics available right now.
Notes: Online TRT clinics must comply with state and federal regulations regarding telemedicine and prescription medication. TRT must be administered under the close supervision of a licensed physician. |
1. FountainTRT
As mentioned above, FountainTRT is the best online TRT clinic and the product I personally use.
Pros & Cons
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
✅Super smooth and seamless process with consistent and clear communication ✅24/7 communication via text messaging ✅Doctors who live and breathe TRT and hormone replacement therapy instead of a GP who knows very little about this stuff | ❌Not available in every state ❌More expensive than a prescription |
The Process and My Experience
The first step is to complete Fountain’s online quiz to see if you qualify: https://fountain.net/trt
My experience: The quiz takes five minutes and is super quick and easy. The only bad thing is FountainTRT doesn’t work with every state because everything is done online, and each state has different telemedicine laws. The only way to find out if it’s available in your state is to take the online quiz.
If Fountain can’t work with you, proceed to option two below (Olympus Men).
If you do qualify, once you complete the online quiz you will pay for the initial lab (cost is $35).
Shortly after your payment, support will text you to set up a lab appointment to get blood drawn. LabCorp is the only option, and entering your zip code will determine if there’s one near you.
My experience: Communication was awesome with FountainTRT. I got an appointment set up the same week and I actually love just being able to communicate via text 24/7.
Going into LabCorp was super easy. Took less than ten minutes. Checked in, waited three minutes, got blood drawn (I didn’t have to bring anything in since the paperwork was all online), and left.
Appointment was at 9:45 and I was out by 9:54.
Six days after doing my labs, I got a text from FountainTRT stating they had my results and asking me to schedule a virtual consultation with one of their doctors. They texted me on a Thursday and had openings pretty much every day.
To view my results I had to download a third-party app called Akute Health. I absolutely hate all the dang apps I have to download for services these days, but to be fair, the app was simple and easy to use.
I talked with Dr. Doron Stember the following Tuesday and we reviewed my labs (normal total testosterone levels but low free testosterone levels) together.
My experience: I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated my consultation with Dr. Doron Stember. We talked through the concerns I had (increased red blood cell count and decreased sperm count) and figured out the right option for me.
If you qualify, you’ll receive your first monthly treatment kit, shipped directly to your door. If you go the injectable route, your delivery includes testosterone cypionate in pre-filled syringes, alcohol swabs, and everything you need to self-inject safely and effectively.
Follow-up lab tests are scheduled every 90 days.
Any necessary dose adjustments are made based on your biomarkers and how you’re feeling. This isn’t a set-it-and-forget-it situation—it’s real clinical care, just without the waiting room.
My experience as of May 21, 2025: I’ve now had my third set of labs, two total since being prescribed enclomiphene, and my numbers are a bit high.
- Total testosterone: 1,116 (slight elevated)
- Free testosterone: 21.8 (in range)
- Estradiol: 40.1 (in range)
- Hematocrit: 52.5 (elevated)
- Hemoglobin: 17.6 (slightly elevated)
While testosterone, free testosterone, and estradiol look good, my hemoglobin is slightly elevated (not a problem), and my hematocrit is elevated as a result of my testosterone being slightly elevated.
These two bio metrics essentially mean increased red blood cell count and blood cell mass and are the main markers TRT clinics keep an eye on. Elevated levels can lead to erythrocytosis (source), which is no bueno.
When these numbers get too high, TRT users will donate blood to reduce these levels. It’s effective (source). I’m not quite at that level, since Dr. Doron Stember told me 54 is when they tell people to donate blood, and I’m sitting at 52.5. However, after talking with Dr. Doron Stember, we’ve decided to just lower my dosage of enclomiphene. Initially I was on 12.5 mg per day, but we’re reducing this to 6.25.
Yes, this will most likely lower my testosterone levels, but they don’t need to be at 1,100 anyway. Our goal is to get me into the 800–900 range and, more importantly, alleviate the high hematocrit levels.
Treatment Options
Since I was a candidate for TRT, Dr. Stember went ahead and prescribed me medicine. Patients choose one of three protocols:
- TRT injectables
- Testosterone cream
- Enclomiphene (oral tablet)
Since I plan on having kids in a few years, I went with enclomiphene because it doesn’t lower sperm count.
If I were older, TRT injectables would have been a better option, but that wasn’t the best use case for me.
Pricing
FountainTRT has two main pricing options, which include everything no matter what protocol you choose.
- One-year package: $166 every four weeks
- Quarterly package: $199 every four weeks
It’s a bit expensive, but this includes everything: shipping, taxes, future lab tests, etc. They don’t try and sneak in any other fees, which I appreciate.
Again, it’s a bit expensive, but as someone who is self-employed, it costs 3x that just to see my damn doctor (who doesn’t even understand TRT). I’m happy with these prices.
Overall
It took me two weeks, start to finish, to get a prescription from FountainTRT. Started on October 28th and had a consultation and prescription by November 11th. This could have been done even quicker, but I had to wait a bit for labs and consult because of other time commitments.
Since going on enclomiphene, my total testosterone has gone from 519 to 1,177.

But what’s more important is my free testosterone (which was the issue) has gone from 7.2 to 54.38.

These numbers are a bit high, but I’m working with Dr. Stember to monitor all other important biometrics, like my RBC, WBC, MCV, MCHC, etc.
Again, I love FountainTRT. Getting my numbers up has been a game changer for me in more ways than I can count. Mental clarity, weight loss, muscle gain, improved sex drive, you name it.
You’ll be in good hands with the team over there.

2. Olympus Men
Olympus Men is part TRT clinic, part life-coach center. The doctors and staff combine medical oversight with motivation and wellness coaching for a holistic service dedicated to lifting men out of their funks.
Its highly individualized hormonal treatment plan goes well-beyond most TRT programs with the aim of improving your confidence and mentality as well as your hormone balance.
Pros & Cons
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
✅Personalized, patient-centered care ✅Emphasis on comprehensive hormone optimization ✅Combines medical oversight with high-performance coaching | ❌Extensive lab work ❌Available in limited states |
The Process
Your TRT journey with Olympus Men starts with a short patient intake form to provide your medical history, your symptoms, and your health goals.
After that, you choose between one of two labs, either a basic hormone test that analyzes 47 biomarkers or a comprehensive hormone test that analyses 76 biomarkers.
Once you’ve chosen your lab, you’re directed to a payment page, where you pay for your initial doctor’s consultation, plus the price of the lab you’ve chosen. You’ll then speak to a wellness coach who will further discuss your health goals and direct you to a lab where you will complete your blood test.
Once that’s completed, you’ll have another consultation, this time with a registered clinician, who will prescribe your testosterone and any other necessary medicines or supplements. Olympus will then ship your prescription directly to your door.
From there on out, you’ll be able to message your wellness coaches as often as you’d like, access one-on-one and group coaching sessions, and conduct follow-ups with your clinician to make sure your treatment is effective.
Treatment Options
Olympus Men provides testosterone therapy through injectable testosterone cypionate, an androgen and anabolic steroid medication. Typically you’ll self-inject two times per week.
But Olympus is about more than testosterone treatments. It also offers drugs and supplements to lower your estrogen, such as anastrozole, gonadorelin for those worried about side effects that could affect your testicles, and semaglutide to help with weight loss.
Olympus also supplements hormonal treatment with both one-on-one and group lifestyle-coaching sessions, a welcome addition for those looking for a more holistic program.
Pricing
With insurance: Not accepted; may be eligible to pay with HSA/FSA
Without insurance:
- Initial consultation fee: $25
- Lab tests:
- $382 for complete hormone, metabolic, thyroid, and prostate tests through analysis of 76 biomarkers
- $264 for basic hormone tests (47 biomarkers)
- Basic TRT package: $225/month
Bottom Line
Olympus Men is great for men who want an attentive team that will help refine your mentality as well as your hormonal imbalance. It’s a first-class experience, with a first-class price. If you want TRT with the added perk of a lifestyle coach, Olympus is your best choice.
OlympusIf you don’t require quite so much hand holding, Fountain TRT is a much more affordable option with the same high-quality testosterone treatment.
3. Maximus Tribe
Maximus Tribe specializes in non-injectable testosterone options, with treatments like enclomiphene, oral TRT, and gels.
In particular, Maximus Tribe aims to boost testosterone levels for those concerned with maintaining fertility, with a focus on convenience, providing a number of options that minimize side effects.

Pros & Cons
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
✅Guaranteed to improve testosterone by 10% or you don’t pay ✅Non-injectable options like enclomiphene ✅Focus on maintaining fertility ✅Comprehensive at-home testing and telehealth services | ❌Higher cost compared to some competitors ❌Some reports of shipment delays |
The Process
Maximus Tribe offers probably the most convenient process of any TRT provider in that you don’t even have to go to a lab for your blood test. The entire process can be completed from your couch.
Your first step is to order a lab test, and in two days, you’ll receive a kit to help you draw your own blood at home. Once you’ve returned the sample, a clinician will call you with the results and go over your treatment plan. If you qualify (and 95% do), you’ll begin receiving your prescription by mail.
Beyond that, your clinician will call to check on you monthly, and you’ll be asked to submit further blood tests to monitor the efficacy of your treatment. The first follow-up blood test will be one month after you begin treatment, the second will be two months later, and then you’ll need to test annually going forward.
Treatment Options
Maximus Tribe offers a range of treatments:
- Injections
- Enclomiphene
- Oral TRT
- Testosterone gels
- Combination therapies
Every option has its own advantages and disadvantages, so make sure you take the time with your clinician to choose which is right for you.
Maximus Tribe specifically pitches enclomiphene, which differs from TRT in that it doesn’t give you added testosterone but rather encourages your body to produce more of its own testosterone. You may not feel the benefits as fast as you would with testosterone injections, but Maximus Tribe reports a lower rate of side effects and no effect on fertility.
Maximus also offers treatments for other needs, like weight loss, hair improvement, and improved blood flow.
Pricing
With insurance: Not accepted; accepts HSA/FSA
Without insurance:
- At-home lab test: $99 each
- Initial consultation fee: $30
- Oral TRT: First month free; $149/month after
- TRT gel: First month free; $109/month after
- Injectable TRT: First month free; $99/month after
- Enclomiphene: First month free; $99/month after
Bottom Line
Maximus Tribe offers a great guarantee and gives you enough options to increase your testosterone that you can find your perfect form of treatment. Order your lab test, complete it at home, and conveniently and discreetly begin your personalized TRT journey within just a few days.
Maximus Tribe4. Evolve Telemedicine
Evolve Telemedicine offers personalized TRT plans as well as other health and wellness services, such as hormonal therapy designed for men’s skincare. The program emphasizes convenience and highly personalized care.

Pros & Cons
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
✅Free initial consultation ✅Wide range of wellness services beyond TRT ✅Affordable TRT options ✅Nationwide service with discreet home delivery ✅Flexible treatment options including injectables and topical therapies | ❌Expensive lab work ❌Extra $299/year for “annual care” |
The Process
The first step in your journey with Evolve Telemedicine is a quick questionnaire that covers your medical history, current symptoms, and health goals.
From there, Evolve will arrange lab work with a LabCorp near you to measure your testosterone levels and other relevant biomarkers.
Once your results are in, a licensed medical provider who specializes in hormone therapy will go through your lab results, review your symptoms, and recommend your fully customized treatment. Once you’ve received your prescription, your meds and all necessary supplies will be delivered to your door. After that, Evolve suggests regular follow-ups and repeat blood tests every few months to make sure you’ve reached your optimal hormonal levels.
Treatment Options
Evolve offers several TRT administration methods:
- Injectable testosterone
- Topical gels and creams
- Oral enclomiphene tablets
Most patients receive the injectable testosterone, which you self-inject weekly or biweekly depending on your needs.
You can also choose topical gels or creams, which are obviously easier to administer, but are not always as well absorbed and may rub off on pets or family members.
Oral tablets are another option but typically aren’t as effective as injections. They’re not actually testosterone but rather work by stimulating the body to produce its own testosterone. They’re a good option for men concerned about TRT’s side effects.
In addition to testosterone itself, Evolve may prescribe human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which can prevent testicular side effects and help maintain fertility. It also offers aromatase inhibitors (AIs) if your estrogen levels become elevated and peptide therapy (bremelanotide), which can be used to treat erectile dysfunction.
Pricing
With insurance: Not accepted; HSA/FSA only
Without insurance:
- Lab work: $149 basic testosterone panel; $299 comprehensive panel; $499 comprehensive plus panel
- Annual care: $299/year, including all lab reviews and consultations
- Treatment: $50–$70 month depending on dosage
Bottom Line
Evolve is sort of a mid-level, jack-of-all-trades TRT provider. It offers good pricing, a lot of options, and decent customer service, but it doesn’t stand out like FountainTRT. Still, Evolve is reliable. You know you’ll get quality medicine and quality care for a reasonable price.

5. Henry Meds
Henry Meds takes a subscription-based approach to TRT, making the process simple, affordable, and completely online. Unlike other online TRT clinics, the price of all lab work and consultations is included in the monthly membership ($129).
Pros & Cons
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
✅Flat-rate pricing (~$99/month), which includes consultations, labs, and prescriptions ✅No hidden fees—medications delivered directly to your door ✅Fully online process, including doctor consultations | ❌Limited flexibility—fewer medication options compared to specialty clinics ❌Limited additional hormone therapies (e.g., hCG, DHEA) ❌Must subscribe before your first consultation |
The Process
The first step in the Henry Med process is to set an appointment with one of its physician’s assistants. Once you have your appointment, you will submit a quick questionnaire about your medical history, symptoms, and any relevant allergies.
Then you have to sign up for a subscription and make your first payment, before you’ve had a consultation or begun treatment.
After you’ve paid, Henry Meds will send you an order for blood work to be done at any Quest Diagnostic center. There are no additional costs for this lab work.
After the clinicians at Henry’s Meds review the results, they will assess your symptoms and determine a treatment plan. If approved, your prescription will be sent to your home.
After starting your treatment, Henry provides regular follow-ups and quarterly lab work to monitor your progress and make adjustments to your treatment if necessary.
Treatment Options
Henry Meds focuses on standard TRT therapy and sticks to the basics:
- Injectable testosterone
- Cream
- Oral enclomiphene
Many patients choose to self-inject, because the effects last longer and they only have to administer their shots once or twice a week at maximum.
Pricing
With insurance: Not accepted
Without insurance: Flat $129/month, including doctor visits, labs, and medications
Bottom Line
Henry Meds deserves a lot of credit for the simplicity of its pricing and the fact that it doesn’t charge extra for lab work.
However, the fact that you have to sign up for a subscription before you’ve even spoken to a doctor is a deal-breaker for a lot of patients. If you don’t mind the prepay, you’ll get a great bargain.
Henry Meds6. Defy Medical
Defy Medical is a well-established telemedicine provider specializing in hormone therapy, including TRT. Its approach is highly personalized, with an emphasis on comprehensive lab testing, physician oversight, and a wide array of treatment options tailored to individual hormone levels and health needs.
Pros & Cons
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
✅In-depth medical evaluations and hour-long consultations ✅Variety of treatment options, including injections, creams, nasal gels, and pellets ✅Tons of supplementary products to help with fertility, sex drive, estrogen levels, and more ✅No contract required | ❌Higher initial consultation fees than some competitors (~$250) ❌Varied monthly costs based on treatment needs ❌Confusing options when it comes to supplements and add-on therapies |
The Process
Defy Medical likes to talk to you on the phone. Once you fill out your contact information online, you’re contacted by one of its representatives for an initial consultation to determine what sort of treatments you’re interested in.
From there, you’ll use the online portal to set up your lab work through a local Labcorp. Once the results are in, you’ll have another consultation with a clinician, who will write you any applicable prescriptions and suggest any necessary supplements.
After that, your medication arrives via a third-party pharmacy, and you can begin treatment. Typically, Defy will ask for a follow-up lab and consultation three months later, and then less frequently going forward.
Treatment Options
Defy Medical offers a wide variety of testosterone treatment options:
- Injectable testosterone
- Nasal gels
- Creams
- Pellets

Nasal gels aren’t common among online TRT clinics, so if that’s what you’re looking for, Defy Medical is the clinic for you, but be prepared for potential mucus, congestion, and sinusitis. Pellets are an innovative treatment that is implanted under the skin and slowly distributes testosterone.
Defy Medical also offers additional therapies, like human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) and aromatase inhibitors to optimize hormone balance. Beyond that, it offers pages of additional supplements covering hair loss, erectile dysfunction, and much, much more.
Pricing
With insurance: Not accepted; may accept FSA/HSA
Without insurance:
- Initial consultation: $0
- Monthly treatment: Averages $250 for the first year, but varies depending on the prescribed medications; drops to $200/month for subsequent years
- Labs: Included in $250/month average price
Bottom Line
Defy Medical is sort of like a small diner that offers a ten-page menu. There’s no way it can master every dish. Yes, it is nice to have a lot of options, but when it comes to TRT, I want a company that excels at exactly what I need.
The best of the best is FountainTRT, but if you want a whole smorgasbord of supplements, vitamins, therapies, caffeinated hair drops, and more, go with Defy Medical.
Defy Medical7. PeterMD

PeterMD requires a little faith, which is fitting because PeterMD identifies as a “faith-based” treatment center.
The faith required on your part is that you have to sign up for a plan before you even get your lab work or talk to a doctor. Yes, they will refund you (less the cost of the labs) if you don’t actually have low testosterone, but the process seems counterintuitive.
Pros | Cons |
✅Affordable TRT pricing at $89/month ✅Includes medications, supplies, shipping, and physician consults ✅Discounts for military and first responders ✅Personalized plans from expert doctors ✅Offers injectable TRT or enclomiphene ✅Positive reviews | ❌Payment required before starting treatment ❌Lab work not included in cost ❌Follow-up lab work cost is massive ❌Poor communication after initial consultation ❌Processing fee to use insurance for labs ❌No topical options |
The Process
The PeterMD process seems a little upside down. You begin by selecting and paying for a treatment program. Once you’ve signed up and paid, you’ll pay an additional $95 for a blood test, which will be conducted at a PeterMD-approved lab.
You should get your results within five to seven days, although there are some complaints of occasional delays. At that point, you’ll make an appointment with one of PeterMD’s clinicians, who will determine the perfect hormone optimization plan for you based on your blood work and symptoms.
Then, finally, the treatment that you’ve already been paying for will be delivered. You’re not scheduled for follow-up work until six months later, and then you only have to submit lab work once a year going forward.
Treatment Options
PeterMD only offers two real options for treating low testosterone levels:
- Injectable testosterone
- Enclomiphene

Like every other TRT provider, it offers injectable testosterone, which you administer yourself at home.
Another option is enclomiphene, which is taken orally, but isn’t actually testosterone. Instead, it blocks estrogen receptors in your body, which induces your body to produce more of its own testosterone, boosting testosterone levels by up to 250%, according to PeterMD.
Enclomiphene was rejected by the FDA as a fertility drug but can currently be prescribed as a testosterone booster while the FDA further tests its efficacy.
Pricing
With insurance: May be accepted for blood tests, with $25 PeterMD processing fee
Without insurance:
- Monthly price:
- Enclomiphene: $139
- Injectable testosterone: $89/month if paid yearly, $139/month if paid month-to-month
- Labs: Initial lab work $99; Follow-up $249
Bottom Line
Beyond the fact that you have to pay for PeterMD before you actually receive anything from PeterMD, the monthly cost makes it a pretty affordable, standard TRT provider, albeit with much fewer options than Fountain TRT and others.
The follow-up lab work cost is also rather mind-boggling, but you can use insurance for it and pay only $25. PeterMD doesn’t offer a lot of follow-up support once you receive your meds, so we don’t recommend it for those who are trying TRT for the first time.
If you want to take a leap of faith, start an affordable TRT program with PeterMD.
PeterMDRead our full review here: PeterMD Review.
8. Hone Health

Hone Health offers a unique pricing model that can muddy the waters a bit. You’ll pay a $129/month membership fee, plus the price of testosterone, which varies depending on what type you choose.
This puts Hone in the middle of the pack price-wise, and it doesn’t offer enough support to justify paying more than you would for Fountain TRT or similar providers.
Pros | Cons |
✅Consultation included in membership fee ✅At-home blood work ✅App-based dashboard and symptom tracking ✅90-day follow-ups ✅Flexible treatment options | ❌Confusing prices ❌Mixed reviews on user experience ❌Does not offer HCG or other ancillary medication options ❌Limited, unresponsive support staff |
The Process
Like with most TRT providers, Hone starts you off with an online questionnaire about your symptoms and overall health. Its licensed medical team will go through your answers to see if you’re an appropriate candidate for TRT.
If you are, you’ll most likely complete your labs at a LabCorp in your area, although in some circumstances a lab technician will actually come to you. You’ll then go over the results with your clinician over a 30-minute or longer video call.
Upon approval, your treatment will begin, most likely with testosterone injections, which will be delivered monthly. Every three months, you’ll repeat your bloodwork to check hormone levels and televisit with your provider to discuss how you feel.
The costs of the subsequent lab work and televisits is included in your membership fee.
Treatment Options
Although they have limited options when it comes to supplementary medications, Hone Health offers a host of TRT options:
- Injectable testosterone, either cypionate or enanthate
- Topical creams
- Troches
- Clomiphene citrate
- Anastrozole
Topical creams are convenient but pose a risk of transfer to a family member or pet. For those who don’t want to self-inject or possibly get Fido hopped on testosterone, troches are under the tongue lozenges, but you have to remember to take them once or twice daily.

Hone also offers clomiphene citrate, which helps your body produce more of its own testosterone and anastrozole, which limits estrogen and the conversion of testosterone into estrogen.
Pricing
With insurance: Not accepted
Without insurance:
- Monthly membership price: $149 (includes follow-up labs)
- Initial lab work: $60
- Testosterone injections: $28/month + membership
- Testosterone cream: $60/month + membership
- Testosterone troches: $60/month + membership
Bottom Line
Hone’s “membership” is sort of a mixed bag. It includes lab work and consultations, which is nice, but for the price, you’d expect a much more responsive staff. But, all things considered, if you pay $177 a month for injectable testosterone with no hidden or extra costs, you could be doing a lot worse.

9. TRT Nation
TRT Nation is known for fast, affordable testosterone therapy with a straightforward approval process. It partners with compounding pharmacies to provide low-cost, high-quality medications, but its customer service is cursory at best.

Pros & Cons
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
✅Competitive pricing ($99/month) ✅Quick prescription approvals and fast shipping ✅Free first consultation and unlimited follow-ups ✅Also prescribes AIs, hCG, and HGH peptides ✅Available in most US states minus AL, AR, AK, and HI | ❌Fewer support resources than full-service clinics ❌Less focus on overall wellness beyond TRT ❌No creams, patches, or oral options ❌Labs not included in plans, cost $129 ❌No mobile app or advanced dashboard ❌Consultations are rushed and cursory |
The Process
TRT Nation begins with an online intake form that takes about 15 minutes and covers your medical history, symptoms, lifestyle, and stress levels.
If you meet the initial criteria, TRT Nation will refer you to a nearby partner lab for blood work, which costs $129, or you can submit your own lab work if it’s less than six months old and meets TRT Nation’s requirements.
A licensed medical provider takes it from there and reviews your labs and your symptoms with you via a virtual consultation. If you’re approved for treatment, the provider will build a customized TRT plan.
Once your treatment plan is finalized, your prescriptions are sent to a compounding pharmacy that will ship a two-and-a-half-month supply directly to your door.
Follow-up labs are required twice in the first year of treatment and then annually after that.
Treatment Options
TRT Nation focuses on injectable testosterone cypionate, available in both compounded and standard pharmaceutical forms, which you administer weekly or biweekly.
It does not provide gels, creams, tablets, or any other TRT options.
It does offer a few standard add-ons, including hCG, to help maintain testicular size and preserve fertility, as well as aromatase inhibitors to control estrogen. TRT Nation also offers HGH peptides, a human growth hormone that costs $233 extra per month.
Pricing
With insurance: Not accepted
Without insurance:
- Monthly price: Starting at $99
- Labs: $129
Bottom Line
TRT Nation falls well short of the service and options provided by Fountain TRT, and for most of you, Fountain’s service will be worth the $30 extra dollars a month. But for those looking for the simplest, cheapest solution to low testosterone with little guidance, TRT Nation will do.

10. Marek Health

When you add up all the costs, Marek Health is one of the most expensive TRT clinics in the country. For that premium price, you do receive full hormonal optimization, the most comprehensive lab testing on the market, and excellent physician care, but the costs are prohibitive for all but the wealthiest TRT candidates.
Pros | Cons |
✅Full hormonal optimization—not just testosterone ✅Deep lab testing for a full-body assessment ✅Multiple treatment options ✅High-level physician oversight ✅Ongoing monitoring with adjustments | ❌Fewer support resources than full-service clinics ❌More expensive than TRT-only clinics ❌No insurance coverage ❌Better suited for long-term health seekers than quick-fix shoppers |
The Process
Marek’s process is almost exactly the same as other TRT clinics, which wouldn’t be a surprise except you’ll be paying almost three times as much as you would at a clinic like Fountain TRT.
You’ll start with an online health assessment that covers all the usual suspects: health history, symptoms, and health goals. Then you’ll meet with a Marek Health coach who will suggest which lab testing you’ll need and make suggestions on a treatment plan.
Once your comprehensive lab work is completed at a local LabCorp facility, a licensed physician will go through the results with you and finalize your plan to address any hormonal imbalances.
Any suggested prescriptions and supplements will arrive at your door and you’ll do follow up blood work every six months to make sure you’re meeting your goals. Marek also strongly suggests in-person physicals with a local physician to further assess your progress.
Treatment Options
Marek’s thoroughness translates to its treatment options:
- Testosterone injections
- Creams
- Gels
- Patches
- Pellets
How you administer your testosterone is based on your personal health goals, your tolerance for various side effects, and your reproductive goals, so use your expensive Marek Health consultations wisely to make sure you make the right choice.
Where Marek really differentiates itself, and perhaps justifies its cost for the right customer, is with its extensive options of other supplements and hormones. It offers sex hormones, gonadotropins, neurosteroids, prostate health supplements, peptide therapy, and much, much more.
Pricing
With insurance: Not accepted
Without insurance:
- Monthly price: Starting at $166 for prescriptions, plus up to $40 a month for supplements
- Consultations: $250 biannually for Zoom meeting with your medical provider
- Labs: $450 for initial basic diagnostic blood test; up to $1,700 with optional genetic analysis; $250 for follow-up blood work every six months
Bottom Line
As far as TRT goes, Marek Health seems to succeed under the fallacy that the higher the price the better the product. Truthfully, if you want to pay for the best possible TRT program, Olympus Men offers even better care for a better price. Marek Health does go well beyond TRT, so if you suspect you have further issues than low testosterone, they may be a good choice as an expensive, one-stop shop.

Understanding TRT
What Is TRT?
Testosterone is a hormone that plays a critical role in many body functions:
- Muscle and bone health: It helps build and maintain muscle mass and bone density.
- Mood and energy: It can contribute to balanced mood, higher energy levels, and overall vitality.
- Sexual function: It’s key to maintaining libido and proper sexual performance.
When testosterone levels drop—as often happens with aging—men may experience symptoms like fatigue, loss of muscle mass, low libido, and mood changes.
TRT works by supplying your body with extra testosterone to bring these levels back up, helping to restore balance.
How Does TRT Help Low Testosterone?
Testosterone plays a huge role in a man’s overall health. When your levels drop, you might notice changes that affect your everyday life. TRT is a treatment that helps replace testosterone when your body isn’t producing enough. Here’s why many men consider TRT:
- Boosts energy and vitality: Testosterone is key for maintaining energy. When levels drop, you might feel fatigued, and TRT can help revive that spark.
- Improves muscle mass and strength: Testosterone contributes to building muscle. TRT can help you regain strength and improve overall fitness. (Citation)
- Can enhance mood and cognitive function: Low testosterone can lead to mood swings, irritability, and difficulty concentrating. TRT helps stabilize mood and mental clarity in some men (it can also cause mood swings and irritability in others).
- Supports bone health: Testosterone also helps keep bones strong. TRT can reduce the risk of bone loss as you age, though it shouldn’t be considered the primary line of defense for osteoporosis. (Citation)
- Increases libido and sexual performance: One of the more talked-about benefits is improvement in sexual desire and performance. (Citation)
While TRT can improve energy, muscle mass, mood, and libido, the extent of these benefits varies—TRT is not a panacea.
But for many men, supplementing your body’s natural testosterone with TRT can help you feel more like your younger self, with improved energy, strength, and overall well-being.
Common Symptoms of Low Testosterone
Knowing the signs of low testosterone is important, so you can decide if TRT might be right for you:
- Low energy: Feeling unusually tired, even after a good night’s sleep
- Decreased muscle mass: A noticeable drop in muscle strength and size
- Increased body fat: Particularly around the abdomen, even if your diet hasn’t changed
- Mood changes: Experiencing mood swings, irritability, or even mild depression
- Reduced libido: A lower sex drive than you’ve been accustomed to
- Cognitive challenges: Issues with memory, focus, or decision-making
Recognizing TRT symptoms early on can help you decide if it’s time to talk to a healthcare provider about TRT. When considering your symptoms, it’s important to note that they can also be caused by other conditions. Before beginning TRT, you should get blood tests to confirm low testosterone levels.
How TRT Works at a Cellular Level
Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) works by adding testosterone back into the body, helping with things like muscle growth, energy, and mood. Here’s how it works inside your cells:
Testosterone Binds to Special Receptors
Once in the bloodstream, testosterone enters cells and attaches to androgen receptors—special proteins that act like “on switches” for certain body functions. (Citation)
Activating the Cell’s DNA
After binding, the receptor moves into the cell’s nucleus (the control center) and tells the DNA to turn on genes that help with things like building muscle, burning fat, and producing red blood cells.
Triggering Cell Signals for Growth
Testosterone also sends signals inside the cell that boost energy, improve strength, and support metabolism—kind of like flipping multiple switches at once to help the body function better.
Types of Testosterone Replacement Therapy Available
TRT isn’t a one-size-fits-all treatment, and there are several ways to administer it. Here’s a look at the most common methods:
- Injections: One of the most common methods, testosterone injections are typically administered every one to two weeks. A healthcare provider will give you an injection in your muscle, and the testosterone is absorbed over time.
- Gels and creams: These are applied directly to your skin—usually on your shoulders or upper arms. The testosterone is absorbed through the skin and into your bloodstream gradually.
- Patches: Similar to gels, patches are applied to the skin and release testosterone steadily over a 24-hour period.
- Pellets: Small pellets can be implanted under the skin by a doctor, providing a steady dose of testosterone for several months.
- Pills: Take testosterone as you would any other pill. Some TRT medicines such as enclomiphene induce your body to produce its own additional testosterone.
Each method has its advantages, and some methods may not be suitable for all men. The best option for you depends on your lifestyle, how quickly you need results, and your personal preference.
This table can help you easily compare the different types of TRT treatment available:
Therapy types | How they work | Advantages | Considerations |
---|---|---|---|
Injection | Precise dose of testosterone directly into your muscle | Generally effective; adjustable based on doctor recommendations | Regular jabs required; close monitoring of T levels by doctor; injection-site discomfort |
Gel or cream | Applied directly to the skin; T absorbed gradually over time | Noninvasive method that can be easily incorporated into daily routine | Possible transfer of testosterone to others if not dried completely |
Patch or pellet | Consistent release of testosterone with patches; long-term, steady dosing from implanted pellets | Reduced hassle of frequent applications or injections | Minor surgical procedure to implant pellets; daily replacement of patches |
Oral tablet | Swallowed, usually twice per day with meals | Convenient and noninvasive | Must be taken with meals twice daily; potential liver damage |
How to Take TRT
Starting TRT involves a few key steps:
- Consult with a doctor: The first step is always a consultation with a healthcare provider. They will review your symptoms, perform blood tests, and determine if TRT is right for you.
- Discuss administration options: Once it’s confirmed that TRT could be beneficial, discuss the various methods (injections, gels, patches, pellets, or oral tablets) and choose one that fits your lifestyle.
- Follow your prescription: Whether you’re self-administering injections or applying a gel, be sure to follow your doctor’s instructions closely.
- Regular monitoring: TRT isn’t set-and-forget therapy. Regular follow-ups are essential to adjust dosage and ensure your testosterone levels are maintained within a healthy range.
Cost of Testosterone Replacement Therapy
The cost of TRT can vary widely depending on several factors:
- Type of treatment: Injections are typically less expensive than gels, patches, pellets, or pills.
- Insurance coverage: Many insurance plans cover TRT if prescribed by a doctor, which can significantly reduce your out-of-pocket expenses.
- Out-of-pocket expenses: If you’re uninsured or your plan doesn’t cover TRT, monthly membership fees at online clinics generally range from $25 to $45, with additional costs for prescription medications.
Pros and Cons of Testosterone Replacement Therapy
Before starting TRT, it’s important to weigh the benefits and potential drawbacks:
Pros | Cons |
---|---|
✅ Enhanced energy and vitality ✅ Improved muscle mass and strength ✅ Better mood and cognitive function ✅ Increased libido and improved sexual performance ✅ Bone health | ❌ Potential side effects and risks ❌ Cost without insurance ❌ Regular monitoring ❌ Not a cure-all |
Alternatives to Testosterone Replacement Therapy
If TRT doesn’t seem like the right fit for you, there are alternatives to consider:
- BHRT: Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is like TRT, but the hormones used are manufactured from plant derivatives. For some, BHRT can produce fewer side effects and help reach overall hormonal balance rather than just adding testosterone.
- Lifestyle changes: Improving your diet, getting regular exercise, and managing stress can help boost testosterone naturally. Although lifestyle changes are important, for men with clinically low testosterone, they are often not enough.
- Supplements: Certain supplements claim to support testosterone production, though their effectiveness varies. Use caution with supplements because many lack scientific evidence.
- Medications: In some cases, other medications might be recommended to address symptoms associated with low testosterone.
- Therapy and counseling: If low testosterone is affecting your mood or relationships, speaking with a counselor might help.
Each alternative has its own pros and cons, and it’s important to discuss these options with your healthcare provider.
