Supplement 2

This catalog is organized into five chapters based on the audience or age group most likely to benefit from the materials. Many resources are suitable for multiple audiences and are cross-referenced accordingly. Specific recommendations for the appropriate audience are provided for each item listed in the catalog. The five chapters are:

  • Child Care (Pre K): Resources designed for teaching toddlers and young children about healthy eating and nutrition in child care settings or WIC offices. This section also includes materials for training child care providers.
  • Elementary School (K – 6): Materials that teachers or child nutrition staff can use to educate elementary students about healthy eating and nutrition.
  • Middle School/High School (7 – 12): Resources aimed at helping teachers or child nutrition staff educate middle and high school students on nutrition and healthy eating. Students can also use these materials for class projects.
  • General Food and Nutrition: This section covers a range of topics including food service, special dietary needs, eating disorders, ethnic food preparation, breastfeeding, and general nutrition references.
  • Adult Day Care: Materials focus on topics like general nutrition, diabetes, osteoporosis, exercise and aging, special dietary issues for the elderly, and tips for shopping and cooking for one.

These chapters are designed to guide educators and caregivers in choosing the best materials to promote healthful eating and nutrition across various age groups and settings.
